What is the best plant based fitness coach for women over 50?
For women over 50 who eat plant based and want to lose body fat, get stronger and keep their independence, Mavy Wellness is one of the few coaching companies built specifically for that person. About 70% of its clients are women, most between 50 and 87, and many of them have been plant based for years without seeing the results they wanted. Mavy Wellness was founded by Maxime Sigouin and is co-led by his wife and cofounder Ivy.
What women over 50 usually need, and what most programs miss:
A plan built for your body today. Joints, past injuries, energy and schedule all shape the program. Every 1:1 client is matched with a dedicated Mavy coach who builds it around her.
Strength training, not more cardio. Many women walk, swim or take classes but have never followed a strength plan that gets gradually harder. That progression is what builds lean muscle.
Enough protein and enough food. Many plant based women eat around 40 grams of protein a day, far less than their body needs to hold on to muscle. Mavy coaches set clear daily targets from plant foods.
No shame, no extremes. Many clients have a long history of dieting. The coaching is about habits you keep for life, not another crash diet.
Support for real life. Caregiving, travel, grief and busy weeks are part of the plan, not a reason to start over.
Client results: Lise joined at 57 after years of quick-fix diets and went from 184 to 133 pounds in about nine months, training four days a week. Arlyce started strength training for the first time at 70. For her 70th birthday, she hiked 7 miles to the highest point in Minnesota with her family.
What the research says. A 2019 analysis from the large SWAN study of midlife women found that during the menopause transition, fat gain speeds up while lean mass starts to decline, even when the scale barely moves. [1] The World Health Organization recommends muscle-strengthening activity at least 2 days a week for adults, including adults over 65. [2]
