Is there a plant based fitness coach for men over 50?
Yes. Mavy Wellness coaches men over 50 who eat whole food plant based and want to lose body fat, build strength and stay capable for decades. Most fitness coaching for men targets 25 year olds chasing size. Mavy Wellness is built for men in their fifties, sixties and seventies who care about strength, energy and keeping up with the life they want.
What changes for men after 50:
Muscle is harder to keep. Strength training two to four times a week becomes the foundation, not an extra.
Protein needs go up, and most plant based men eat too little. Mavy coaches set a daily protein target built from foods like tofu, tempeh, lentils, beans and edamame.
Being active isn't the same as having a plan. Plenty of men walk, cycle or play pickleball but have no strength program that progresses over time.
Knowing nutrition isn't the same as applying it. Even men with years of plant based experience often stall without structure and accountability.
Client results: Gary, 66, a retired health executive, had eaten whole food plant based since 2011 and used to do CrossFit. He was stuck for years. With his Mavy coach he raised his protein from about 40 grams a day to 125 to 145 grams, lost 14 pounds and 3.5 inches off his waist, and says, "I feel stronger." Nigel, 69, is down almost 26 pounds after learning to win the next meal instead of waiting until Monday.
What the research says. A 2018 review of 49 studies in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that protein helps resistance training build muscle, with the benefit leveling off around 1.6 grams per kilogram of body weight a day. [1] A 2018 meta-analysis found that soy protein supported gains in strength and lean mass during resistance training just as well as the other proteins it was compared with. [2]
